Helping Children Feel Seen, Safe & Understood
Hi, I’m Nic — an Emotional Coach and Mentor supporting neurodivergent children aged 4 to 16, both in and out of school. I work across Surrey and surrounding areas (travel by arrangement), offering 1:1 sessions, home visits, and group support — including my popular after-school club, Calm Crew.
As a mum of three neurodivergent children — and someone with ADHD myself — I truly understand the overwhelm, the need for advocacy, and the small everyday wins that matter most. I was that parent chasing assessments, fighting for EHCPs, and navigating meetings with tears and spreadsheets in equal measure. Now, with my eldest off to university, I use my lived experience and professional training to support children and families on their own journeys.
This is a practical, empowering emotional coaching that’s solution-focused, playful, and completely led at the child’s pace. My work is built on trusted relationships, which are often the missing piece in traditional support. I don’t just “manage behaviour” — I help children understand what’s going on underneath.
Because let’s face it — a meltdown is rarely about a lost shoe.
I bring over seven years of experience working in:
Mainstream, SEN & alternative provision settings
Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) roles in schools
1:1 support for children with additional needs
EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than at School) and home-education environments
Founder of Calm Crew – a well-being after school club in Surrey schools
I’m also a:
Qualified ADHD Coach
Certificate in NCFE BACP Counselling level 1,2,3
NCFE CACHE Level 2 certified in Understanding Autism
Certified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA)
I support children who often don’t fit into the mainstream mould — those who are sensitive, misunderstood, or simply need a different kind of approach to thrive
Enhanced DBS
Creative, hands-on and movement-based sessions
Individualised support that adapts as your child grows
Focus on emotional awareness, social connection & resilience
A calm, consistent adult who really gets them
If you’re looking for real support — with no judgment and maybe a half-drunk cup of tea nearby — I’d love to connect.
"Nic has shown a wonderful understanding of them as individuals, which has made the biggest difference. The children still speak highly of her to this day".
